PFA stands for perfluoroalkoxy, or more commonly known by DuPont's brand name, Teflon. Due to its low coefficient of friction, PFA exhibits excellent non-stick properties. It is a relatively flexible polymer with high resistance to stress cracking and can withstand almost all solvents and chemicals. PFA is also capable of enduring both high and low-temperature conditions. It can provide continuous service temperatures up to 260°C (500°F). It offers exceptional flame resistance, chemical stability, and high dielectric strength. It is used in a wide range of applications, including critical, highly corrosive processes in pipelines. PFA lining material can protect chemical equipment from corrosion. Additional applications may include filter housings, heat exchangers, pump casings, fittings, and more. Process technology utilizes PFA to construct in-line chemical heaters, Pulsar point-of-use in-line heaters, XC series in-line exchangers, and X series immersion coils.
